In spite of the continuity of vision, the first expression of which has been well represented on his debut record The Universe and Beyond, here Mr. Spock (aka Blaž Flerin) offers us a completely new approach to music creation. Joined by Matic Šuštar on bass and voice, Flerin also adds guitar to his already established repertoire of electronic manipulations. As a consequence, a considerable drawback from his previous explorations within computer generated soundscapes is detectable and new territories are discovered first by the means of already mentioned rock instrumentation and second, by extensive contributions from “Renata the rhythm machine” which move the music still a bit further towards dance oriented rhythmics. Once again sampling is present within the songs, but this time, in combination with the song lyrics and even the overall packaging of the disk, Spock Studios lead us away from the spacey suggestiveness of Star Trek cuts into a more down to earth palette of associations and allusions which are now here, waiting for your imagination to take a turn on their interpretation.
